Names 2021-2022 Board of Directors
Chicago — The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for 2021. The role of the board is to govern, establish policy and make strategic decisions about the future of the organization.
President: Kimberly A. Olszewski, DNP, RN, CRNP, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN, FAAN, DISA Global Solutions and Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, Pa.
Dr. Kimberly Ann Olszewski is Director of Client and Provider Services and Nurse Practitioner at DISA Global Solutions Inc. (formerly Mid-State Occupational Health Services Inc.) and serves as Graduate Program Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner and Doctorate in Nursing Practice Program Director at Bloomsburg University. Dr. Olszewski is Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at Bloomsburg University and holds the Breiner Family Endowed Professorship for Nursing, a five-year presidential appointment she received in 2018.
Dr. Olszewski is an ANCC board certified adult nurse practitioner and a Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist and Case Manager from the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN). In 2007, she received Fellowship distinction from the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN), and in 2020 the Fellowship distinction (FAAN) from the American Academy of Nursing.
Dr. Olszewski currently serves on the AAOHN Board of Directors as President and previously served as President of the Northeast Association of Occupational Health Nurses and the Pennsylvania Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Dr. Olszewski’s professional career has been dedicated to expanding occupational health knowledge and research, and has presented and published nationally and internationally over the past 15 years on numerous topics, including DOT certification, obstructive sleep apnea, marketing OHNs, fatigue management, Healthy People 2020, social media integration, and diagnostic updates. Dr. Olszewski accepted the Health and Human Services Secretary’s invitation to serve on the Board of Scientific Counselors, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for a term beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2024.
Dr. Olszewski received her BSN from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA; MSN as a Community Health Clinical Nurse Specialist from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA; Post Master’s Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Bloomsburg University; and Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA.

This year’s board of directors will continue to encourage collaboration and leadership to prevent and mitigate transmission of the COVID-19 virus among workforces and support overall vaccine deployment efforts.”
The new board of directors was sworn in at the organization’s annual members-only business meeting on March 17.
