General

How can I optimize my home internet for a better National Conference experience?

  • Maximize your internet connection by connecting your computer by an ethernet cable directly from your internet router
  • If you must use Wi-Fi, try and use the 5GHz
  • Wi-Fi works best when you are 5-8 ft from your router
  • Give your router space to breathe by placing it in “free space”. This means not in a TV stand or behind the couch
  • Check and tighten all cable connections, with your router and with your computer
  • Give your router time to rest by turning it off for at least 10 seconds and restarting it. This will boost your internet speed by a few extra mbps
  • Closeout other apps on your device that are not essential to the Annual Meeting
  • Disconnect other non-essential devices around your home (or office) that are connected to the internet: streaming devices, tablets, phones, video game systems, and/or smart TVs

Do I need to download any software to participate?

No, you do not need to download any software to participate in the National Conference, however, the platform is optimized for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox internet browsers while participating via laptop or desktop computers.

How will my information be shared with other attendees?

Attendee information will be included in the attendee list on the profile. Please note, neither your email address nor your mailing address will be shared with other attendees. To view the AAOHN privacy policy, please click here

How will my information be shared with exhibitors and sponsors?

Attendee information is not automatically shared with exhibitors and sponsors, with the exception of a pre-event and post-event attendee list (you had the option to opt-in/out during the registration process) and when you complete certain activities within the platform.

When you view exhibitor materials in their booth (including videos, banners, documents, and links), your contact information will be collected and shared with exhibitors post-conference. If you wish to opt-out of sharing this information, please email exhibits@aaohn.org.

Registration

What if I want to register after the event starts?

You still can! Register here and contact registration@aaohn.org if you have any questions.

Please note it may take up to 24 hours for your account to be activated. You should receive your confirmation email with the link to give you access to the site. Please check your junk mail folder - if you haven't received your confirmation email within 24 hours, contact registration@aaohn.org.

I didn’t receive my registration confirmation, what do I do?

Your registration confirmation email is only sent once payment is received. Please contact registration@aaohn.org to resend your confirmation email.

Virtual Event Platform

How do I log into the National Conference Virtual Experience?

If this is your first time logging in, please use the link in the email invitation you received to access the virtual site on Thursday, April 8, Platform access information will be emailed from registration@aaohn.org, with the subject line “Your AAOHN National Conference Virtual Platform Login.” To access the event, please enter the email address you used during the registration process. 

If you cannot locate this email, please contact registration@aaohn.org and we will be happy to assist you.

How do I edit my profile?

To edit your profile, log into the virtual event platform. Once logged in, click “Update Profile” in the upper right-hand corner next to your profile icon. There you will be able to make changes to your credentials, title, organization, city, state, and country fields.

How do I update their profile picture?
To update your profile picture, navigate to the Conversations & Chat tab. Within the Conversations & Chat tab, click the drop-down next to your name in the upper right-hand corner then click "Update Profile Picture."

If my connection freezes for a moment on the chat or during a session, what should I do?

Try to refresh your page. Check your internet connection to ensure it’s stable. As a reminder, the platform experience is best if you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser.

I keep getting kicked out of the platform repeatedly. What troubleshooting can I do?

Please try these options if you experience problems staying in the platform.

  • Make sure that the internet browser you are using is Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as these are the recommended internet browsers for the best experience.
  • Check to ensure that the browser you are using is the latest version.
  • Disable any firewalls or any related software that might be blocking the platform.
  • Exit from any chat rooms that you are not actively chatting in.

I am logged into the platform and my video is working, but I cannot hear the sound from the sessions. What troubleshooting can I do?

Please try these options if you experience problems hearing the sessions:

  • Check that your computer audio is on and not muted.
  • Make sure that the internet browser you are using is Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as these are the recommended internet browsers for the best experience.
  • Check to ensure that the browser you are using is the latest version.
  • Disable any firewalls or any related software that might be blocking the platform.
  • Exit from any chat rooms that you are not actively chatting in.

If you are still experiencing challenges after trying these options, please email aaohnsupport@getvfairs.io.

These troubleshooting options would also work in the event that you can hear the sessions but cannot view the video display.

Can I chat with a specific exhibitor, speaker or attendee?

The ‘Conversations & Chat’ function of the virtual platform was disabled after the live experience ended on April 22, 2021.

What other resources do you have that I can use to better navigate the virtual platform?

AAOHN is pleased to offer a series of how-to videos and National Conference Navigation Guide that include screenshots of the platform and answers to a lot of frequent questions. Please visit the Help Desk in the platform to access these resources. Session Information

Can I view sessions at a later date?

Full Conference registrants will have on-demand access to all the recorded sessions (where speakers have given permission), through June 30, 2021.

If I watch a recording, can I see the chat and Q&A?

Yes, you will still have access to see the chat and questions & answers that occurred during the live session. Please note, when you are watching a recording on-demand, you may be the only person watching the session at that time, so the Q&A box or chat functions may not be active.

Can I take notes? How do I download them?

Yes, we encourage you to take notes during all education sessions, similar to how you would during the in-person events. There is no specific area in the platform where you can type your notes; however, AAOHN has created a notes worksheet for you to print and keep near your workstation. If you received an attendee gift box, you’ll find the worksheet inside your box.

Virtual Exhibit Hall

How do I visit a virtual exhibit booth?

Attendees can visit the Virtual Exhibit Hall by clicking on the Exhibit Hall tab. Once on the Virtual Exhibit Hall page, you will see the exhibitor floorplan and can click on all virtual booths.

I went to a booth but no one was there to talk.

Since the live experience has ended, please contact exhibits@aaohn.org and AAOHN will get you in direct contact with that exhibiting company.

Education/CEUs

How many CNE credits will be offered at the Virtual Conference?

Attendees will have the opportunity to earn more than 23 contact hours for the National Conference, between education sessions, poster sessions, wellbeing for OHNs sessions and the AAOHN Foundation Yoga activity.

Will sessions be recorded?

Yes, all sessions were recorded. The recordings are housed directly on the Auditorium and sessions are listed chronologically in the order they initially aired. Sessions will be available to view on-demand until June 30, 2021.

I received a certificate for the live National Conference. Will I be able to evaluate and receive a CNE certificate for the on-demand National Conference?

All evaluations for the 2021 National Conference live event were locked as of April 25, 2021. You will be able to view on-demand content and evaluate for the on-demand National Conference to receive a second CNE certificate for sessions that you missed during the Live event. You may earn a maximum of 25.15 CNE total for the National Conference through either evaluation.

How do I access my certificate from the 2021 Virtual National Conference live event?

Please follow the instructions below for accessing the link to the evaluations. After you have read the instructions and clicked Continue, you will have two events in your evaluation dashboard. Select the AAOHN 2021 National Conference Live Virtual and select Retrieve Certificate.

How do I access my on-demand National Conference evaluation to receive a CNE certificate?

All National Conference attendees will need to view each session and complete the session evaluation to earn a CNE certificate. To access your evaluation and certificate:

  1. Log into the AAOHN website – if you do not know your password click the Username and/or Password Help link (be sure to check your junk/spam folder for the email).
  2. Hover over the Education tab, and then select Evaluations and Certificates.
  3. Under the AAOHN National Conferences heading, you will see a section for 2021 on-demand National Conference Evaluations.
  4. Click the blue link to access the evaluation page(s) that are available.
  5. Read the instructions and click Continue.
  6. Complete the DemographicsSession Evaluations, (Posters will be found under the Session Evaluation button) and Overall Evaluation sections. The sections are sequential so you will need to complete each section before advancing to the next section. Once you have completed the Overall section, your Certificate will then become available to save and/or print.
  7. To ensure your transcript is correct, we recommend that you view and complete all sessions that you intend to participate in the National Conference before you print your certificate.

PLEASE NOTE: The on-demand Virtual National Conference Evaluation will be available through July 16, 2021. Please complete all evaluations for the sessions that you attended before you claim the certificate. 

How long will I have to complete my evaluation to earn my certificate for the on-demand National Conference?

On-demand virtual content is available now through June 30, 2021. Please note, you will need to complete your on-demand evaluations no later than July 16, 2021, to claim your continuing education credit.

Will there be handouts? Where can I find them?

If the speaker has included a handout with their presentation, the handout can be found within the conference platform once you access a session. The handout will be listed with a link to download.
