New Investigator Research Grants
Purpose: To encourage research in the field of occupational and environmental health by new principal investigators.
MEDIQUE PRODUCTS ($1,500 - two awards) The AAOHN Research Priorities are to be used as the primary guide/reference for possible topics and will be given preference in funding.
UPS ($5,000— one award). The focus of the research should be on current occupational injury risks that impact a broad spectrum of the workforce and is aimed toward injury prevention. Suggestions for topics include use of personal wearable aiding in prevention of illness / injury, integrating employee wellness, implementing heat illness prevention or hydration program to maintain state of wellness. The AAOHN Research Priorities may be useful as a guide/reference for possible topics. The research project topic will be approved by the funding company
Purpose: To support AAOHN member participation and learning about the legislative process, the AAOHN Foundation is providing two grants to the next session of the Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI). The grant provided is to offset the costs associated with attending NIWI.
The program provides participants the opportunity to learn from health policy experts, members of Congress and other government officials and to network with nurses from around the country and is sponsored by the Nursing Organizations Alliance, an umbrella group of national nursing organizations to which AAOHN is a member.
