MANAGING DIABETES IN THE WORKPLACE
National statistics show a growing prevalence of diabetes and prediabetes among the U.S. population. In addition to the health impact for affected individuals, the cost of care and decreased productivity constitute a significant expense to employers that continues to rise each year. But diabetes can be controlled and type 2 diabetes may be prevented in people with prediabetes.
AAOHN is leveraging resources to provide occupational health nurses with the latest evidence-based education in support of their day-to-day prevention and management of diabetes in the workplace.
